Our Beginnings

Everyone has a story. This one is ours.

Our love of antiques began while stationed in Europe in the U.S. Army during the 1970s. Living in both Germany and Great Britain gave us the opportunity to experience firsthand the wonderful craftsmanship of old world furnishings. Joe always had an interest in wood and finishes and gravitated naturally to restoring and refinishing the few pieces we could afford to buy.

After retiring from the Army and relocating to Springfield, Pat furthered her painting efforts to include home and business decorative painting, as well as custom calligraphy. This eventually resulted in combining painting work with antiques into a small shop open three afternoons per week. From that beginning in 1995, Country Road Collection has become one of the most complete design and decorator shops in the four-state area.
